Desert Hills Christian Homeschoolers

Serving the areas of New River, Desert Hills, Cave Creek,

Black Canyon City, Anthem, Tramonto, and North Phoenix.

As one of the oldest support groups in Arizona, we've been dedicated to helping homeschool families for over 23 years!

Desert Hills Christian Homeschoolers (DHCH) is committed to supporting parent and child alike within a joyful atmosphere that brings honor and glory to God. We are a close-knit group in which children can grow up together, parents can find fellowship, and families can grow in Christ as we endeavor to encourage one another in this wonderful homeschool adventure.

The DHCH leadership consists of husband and wife teams, and many fathers are actively involved in the group. DHCH families consist of both new and experienced homeschoolers with children of all ages from babies to teens. Members are encouraged to participate, volunteer, and plan activities as they feel led to.

We hold two regularly scheduled group meetings each year, in the Fall and Spring. Special events have included River Day, Field Day, Recognition Night, 20th Anniversary Celebration, Homeschool Information Night, Answers in Genesis Seminar, and Frugal Homeschooling Workshop. Group activities provide opportunities for education, friendship, and fun.

Field trips, hikes, parent-led outings and other activities take place year-round. However, the type of events and number of activities can vary and are directly related to membership involvement. The motto of our group has always been "If you would like to see something happen, it's up to you to make it happen." So if you have an idea for a field trip, get-together, or other activity, please feel free to make the arrangements and announce it to the group.

Veteran DHCH members have worked hard over the years to make homeschool resources and support readily available in our community. Current members have access to a homeschool lending library, and a Blessings Fund is available for families in need. Newly registered members receive an informative 75-page booklet and are added to our private e-mail group.

If you are looking to build friendships, find support, and grow in faith among a caring community of fellow homeschoolers, we invite you to join us! Beginning and prospective homeschoolers are always welcome... Christian unschoolers, too!

Good news! Starting in May 2008, DHCH membership is FREE no dues! But that means we will depend on the proceeds from Boxtops for Education and other fundraisers. Please get in the habit of saving those General Mills boxtops for us! See the "More Info" page for details and other ways to help.
